I create a customized treatment for you at your appointment, using a range of Chinese medicinal therapies.
Acupuncture and other modalities including cupping,
ear seeds, and moxibustion may be used.
acupuncture
Acupuncture involves inserting sterile hair-thin needles into specific points on the body.
Each of these acupuncture points acts as a gate; sending information electromagnetically via the fascia deep into the body. This fascinating fascial net is an integrated informational system that unites the entire living body.

The mechanical stimulus provided by acupuncture is believed to convert into chemical reactions and activity and may be responsible for a number of physiological processes in the body.
Our bodies produce a wide range of natural pain-relieving substances, anti-inflammatory chemicals, hormones, and immune system enhancers all without the need for outside drugs.
In fact, some of our most effective drugs are synthetic copies of the chemicals our body makes naturally.

Acupuncture helps to tap into and stimulate those existing resources to help your body to balance itself to resolve disease and discomfort.

Explore some of the ways acupuncture works
RELIEVES PAIN
Acts as a natural analgesic by releasing endogenous opioids – our natural pain relievers.
REDUCES INFLAMMATION
Promotes the release of a cascade of anti-inflammatory chemicals throughout the body.
RESTORES HOMEOSTASIS
Restores the body’s ability to regulate its environment and maintain internal balance.

BALANCES BIOCHEMISTRY
Stimulates hormones and neurotransmitters such as serotonin and dopamine – our “feel good” chemicals.
INCREASE CIRCULATION
Increases blood flow to your organs and tissues to promote healing and improved function.
CLEARS BLOCKAGES
Frees up blockages along the meridian system to restore the body’s flow.

CUPPING therapy
Cupping therapy utilizes glass cups and fire to create a negative-pressure suction on the skin, muscle and fascial layers. This myofascial decompression increases circulation to the area and draws toxins to the surface of the body, which allows them to be more easily eliminated.
Cupping releases chronically tight muscles, alleviates muscle and joint pain, and potentially reduces inflammation. It is also used to strengthen the immune system and to clear out congestion in the lungs. Furthermore, it is beneficial in detoxifying the lungs of those quitting smoking.
24K GOLD EAR SEEDS
These tiny and chic 24k gold plated beads are used in Traditional Chinese Medicine as part of a practice called auriculotherapy. They are gently placed along pressure points on the outer ear to promote healing and address various health concerns.
These specific points can be activated by either needling them or wearing these ear seeds for a few days. Auricular therapy is used for a range of conditions, including pain, anxiety, insomnia, stress, headaches, and hormonal imbalances.

Auriculotherapy can increase vagal modulation through the auricular branch of the vagus nerve, impacting both the autonomic and central nervous system. Clinical research also suggests that auricular acupuncture might hold potential to prevent neurodegenerative diseases by regulating the vagal system.

MOXIBUSTION
Moxibustion is a therapy used in conjunction with acupuncture that involves burning an herb called Ai Ye, Folium Artemisiae, commonly known as mugwort. Ai Ye is burned on or near the skin at an acupuncture point and has a warming effect on the body’s acupuncture meridians and underlying tissues.
Many of its health benefits include pain relief (especially arthritic pain), improved blood circulation, decreased healing times of injuries, enhanced immunity, improved digestive health, and relief from menstrual cramps.
